Our expertise extends to managing Public Stock Market Listings, preparing prospectuses and information memorandums, and providing access to Crest and Euroclear services. We also offer Company Registrar Services and nurture Investor Relations Management

The Corporate Finance and Investment Banking team

The Opportunity Key Responsibilities

As a Corporate Finance Manager / Associate Director, your responsibilities will include:

  • Experience: Minimum of 5+ years in a Corporate Finance role. While individuals with regulated experience are preferable, we remain open to candidates without said experience, subject to further discussion.
  • Regulatory Understanding: Training will be provided; however, a strong understanding of the UK regulatory environment is required. Qualifications may be required as set out in the relevant regulatory guidelines.

Location

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work from the Company’s Mayfair or Canary Wharf offices on a full-time or hybrid basis. Alternatively, a Work From Home compliance infrastructure and facilities are in place subject to detail.

The Marshall Sterling Discretionary Investment Management team employs a multi-strategy investment approach by deploying a wide range of investment and trading strategies, managed by a team of highly experienced investment managers. 
The team provide money management services for Private and Institutional clients and have broadly consistently delivered a strong return on equity. Whilst team members have spent much of their 20 to 40-year career developing pedigree within top tier global investment banks and funds, we maintain an entrepreneurial culture and can be flexible to the requirements of different styles of investing and trading. The Role

We have an exciting opportunity for an individual or indeed a team of individuals, to join the discretionary investment management team as an FCA regulated trader, investment manager, portfolio manager. 
We are seeking a highly skilled and driven professional to join our team as an FCA Regulated Trader and Portfolio Manager.

The Opportunity Key Responsibilities

  • Portfolio Construction: Utilise your expertise to construct a systematic investment portfolio that may include but are not limited to ETFs, listed developed region mid to large-cap Equities, equity derivatives including but not limited to Indices, Swaps and CFDs, Futures Options, Forex, Commodities and investment-grade and government credit.
  • Strategic Flexibility: Implement strategies that align with the objectives and risk tolerance of our clients. Your ability to adapt and tailor strategies to specific client portfolio needs will be crucial.
  • Client Segmentation: All derivatives strategies are deployed exclusively to professional and institutional clients, adhering to strict regulatory guidelines and maintaining compliance with FCA regulations.

ETF, Cash Equity and Fixed Income may be deployed across all client classifications.

  • Fee Structure: Portfolios include a blend of fee structures which include management and performance fees.
  • Migration of Existing Strategies: Migrating pre-existing portfolio strategies are a viable option subject to the provision of thorough historical data, analysis and stress testing to ensure risk department’s approval.

The candidate will demonstrate excellent risk management both in terms of how the portfolio is constructed and how these measures insulate the portfolio from volatility outside the mandated defined risk tolerance level.

We are seeking candidates who demonstrate original idea generation that incorporates a deep fundamental understanding of the markets they cover, an awareness of industry and market dynamics that may impact valuation, a process for actively engaging with management teams, and an ability to form their own views in the presence of information.

The candidate will be responsible for all investment decisions, the construction of the full portfolio and the day-to-day risk management of every line within the trading book.
